Successful conclusion of “Kultur im Fluss” 2023: District of Giessen recognizes outstanding cultural initiative and honors with special non-material prize
Kultur im Fluss 2023 came to a successful end with a glittering final weekend and delighted quite a few visitors along the river courses of the Lahn, Lumda, Wieseck and Salzböde in the northern district of Giessen. The series of events, initiated by the Tourist Working Group of the Giessen Lahn valleys, offered a diverse program of music, theater, literature, visual arts and art exhibitions since June 1, 2023, which was expanded with innovative workshops.
The extraordinary achievements of “Kultur im Fluss” and the pioneering idea of the cultural network have now been honored with a special non-material prize as part of the coveted cultural sponsorship award of the district of Giessen. This honor recognizes the commitment and creativity of all those involved in making “Kultur im Fluss” a highlight of the cultural scene in the district of Giessen.
This year, the “Kultur im Fluss” event series has once again proven that culture connects, inspires and creates a vibrant cultural scene in the region. With over 40 events taking place over 6 weeks, people in the region as well as visitors from near and far were able to experience a multifaceted cultural offering.
Particularly noteworthy is the work of the cultural network, which promotes cooperation between cultural actors and cultural facilitators from the region and is so far unique in the region. The network not only enabled better coordination of events, but also the creation of innovative and inspiring cultural offerings and mutual support.
“Receiving a special non-material award is an honor and confirmation of our commitment. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all those involved who have made this unique cultural initiative possible,” emphasizes Anna Erb, project officer for the Giessener Lahntäler Tourist Working Group.
The successful conclusion of Kultur im Fluss 2023 and the award from the district of Giessen once again underscores the importance of culture for social life and regional identity. The event series and the cultural network have shown that culture connects and creates a lively and inspiring cultural scene in the region.
“Kultur im Fluss” will continue to contribute to strengthening the cultural scene in our region and creating cultural experiences for young and old with a great deal of commitment and creativity.
