GPS guided tours invite you to discover

Via GPS, the mayors’ favorite tours can now be discovered in every municipality of the Giessener Lahntäler with the help of the route planner outdooractive.

Hiking and biking routes are the essence of any tourist region. On the well-signposted, supra-regional Lahn hiking trail or the two bike routes, the Lumda and Wieseck tours, the beauty of the four valleys in the north of the district of Giessen can already be enjoyed in a relaxed manner and without any additional aids.

Currently, the Tourist Working Group Giessener Lahntäler is working diligently together with the district of Giessen to bring certified hiking trails to the region and to expand and improve the signage.

A process that can sometimes take several years. Until then, the mayors from the northern district have compiled their favorite tours in “outdooractive,” a tour portal for outdoor enthusiasts.

Using GPS, a total of around 70 kilometers of route can now be hiked or discovered by bike. The route on the user’s own smartphone helps to find the previously unmarked paths. In addition, the digital companion also makes it possible to display exciting places along the route, such as restaurants or sights.

An accompanying flyer invites users to discover and try out their favorite tours. By scanning the respective QR code, the tours arrive on the user’s own smartphone. The flyers are available at all municipal offices in the Giessener Lahntäler or can be downloaded from the website www.giessener-lahntaeler.de .
